Velcro Straps
Description:
Easy to use and adjustable, Velcro straps offer a simple fastening option to keep covers neat and secure.
Usage:
Frequently used on the outer corners of patio furniture covers, grill covers, and cart covers, they help fold in excess material and create a tighter/cleaner fit.
Notes:
- A great solution for squaring off loose fabric at corners or edges.
- Pairs well with shockcord drawstring for multi-point fastening.
Shockcord Drawstring
Description:
An elastic cord sewn into the hem of the cover, allowing the user to tighten the bottom edge for a snug fit.
Usage:
Commonly used on chair covers, sectional covers, and sofa covers, this fastener allows customers to adjust the tension around the base to suit their setup and preferences.
Notes:
Great for windy areas when paired with internal straps or buckle straps.
Internal Straps
Description:
Straps sewn on the inside of the cover, designed to wrap around the legs of furniture to keep the cover in place. Available as either Velcro or buckle straps.
Usage:
Used frequently on table covers and chair covers.
- Velcro straps are simple to apply and adjust
- Buckle straps are better for high-wind areas where a more secure hold is needed.
Notes:
- Not visible from the outside for a cleaner look.
- Usually recommended when the item has accessible legs or crossbars.
Buckle Straps
Description:
A durable strap with a buckle end that wraps around or through the cover to pull it tightly against the item.
Usage:
Versatile and commonly used on:
- Table & chair covers
- Island grill covers
- Sofa covers
- Daybed covers
- Sectional covers
For sectional covers, the buckle strap is sewn into the inside front of the cover and wraps underneath the furniture, connecting to a strap on the inside back. This anchoring method keeps the cover in place and prevents it from ballooning or shifting — even in windy conditions.
Notes:
- The video example to the left shows this sectional cover fastening method in action.
- Buckle straps are easily adjustable and ideal for larger or heavier covers.
- Can be used at corners, midpoints, or underneath the item depending on the application.
Sand Weights
Description:
A fabric sleeve sewn into the hem of the cover, containing a removable sand weight to help hold the cover in place through weight alone.
Usage:
Most commonly used for built-in grill covers, typically weighing down three sides of the cover and the front flap that covers the electronic panel. Also used on island grill covers, especially those up against a wall.
Notes:
- A sand-filled insert slides into the hem or fabric sleeve.
- In wall-backed configurations, a sand weight sleeve rests against the wall to keep the top from lifting.
- A subtle fastening solution for heavy stationary items.
Grommets
Description:
Metal-reinforced holes placed along the hem or edges of the cover to allow customers to tie their cover down securely.
Usage:
Used across nearly all cover types as an optional anchor point.
Customers can request grommets in specific locations for their unique needs.
Notes:
- Can be paired with bungee cords, rope, or zip ties.
- Useful in extremely windy environments or where precise tie-down is required.
- Low-profile and heavy-duty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can absolutely choose which fasteners go on your covers. Our job is to satisfy your needs — we simply recommend options based on past experience. You know your location better than anyone, and if you believe there’s a fastener you need, we’re happy to oblige.
Yes, fasteners are included in the price. All covers come with two free fasteners, and additional fasteners are available at a minor cost.
The best option is the buckle strap. Buckle straps wrap around your item and pull the cover tightly against it, helping to prevent wind from getting underneath and blowing the cover off. For smaller items like chairs, where we typically wouldn’t use external buckle straps, we recommend internal buckle straps that clip around the legs of the item.
Yes, if you’d like a cover without any fasteners, we can absolutely do that for you. However, we generally advise against it — at a minimum, we recommend using Velcro straps. But if you insist on no fasteners, we’re happy to accommodate.
